62 Broadway - The Four Pillars

The Four Pillars

Below are the four pillars we believe to be essential to the development of a thriving music sector in Corner Brook, NL.

  1. Youth Engagement
In order to have a sustainable music and arts sector within our city, we need to provide opportunities for youth to engage with the arts in a variety of ways. These will include: all ages spaces for youth-focused performances and programming, introductions to music industry career paths, and volunteering opportunities with local music and arts organizations.

  2. Access to Production
Access to the space and equipment needed to create and record new musical works is essential to the development of artists at every stage in their careers. In order to maintain and attract working musicians to our city they will need to have access to: professional music engineers and producers, rehearsal spaces, recording studio spaces, and recording equipment.

  3. Access to Expertise
Access to expertise from industry leaders both Canadian and International will help to build the skill sets and capacities of artists and industry professionals in our city. This will be facilitated through mentorships, apprenticeships, workshops, and conferences that Laughing Heart Music will create, coordinate, and oversee with the support of our partners.

  4. Community and Culture
The fourth and final pillar of our music sector strategy is community and culture. In order to build a thriving and sustainable music sector, we will need full buy-in and support from the members of our community (including key stakeholder organizations), and from the City, its mayor, and councilors.
